“A Maker of Humming-birds” draws a throughline from Amy Lowell as young, wishful poet to the adult Lowell; poet and literary force extraordinaire. With her own passionate poetic voice, Lowell was also a fierce advocate for contemporaries including Robert Frost and D.H. Lawrence and was a central figure in the Imagist movement.
