Navona Records has revamped their webiste to improve the searchability of music and artists. Now each artist and album on the label has a dedicated page on the webiste and music can be searched for based on genre and involved artists. Check out Edie's Navona Records artist page here.
Back in the Recording Studio with The Crossing
It was a pleasure and a gift to record Spectral Spirits with The Crossing this past week. Thanks to Donald Nally, singers and everyone who was there for their warmth and the incredible music making.

~Marvellous Error!~ included in Polyphonists debut
DC/Baltimore-based vocal quartet, The Polyphonists (soprano Amy Nicole Broadbent, mezzo-soprano Sylvia Leith, tenor Matthew Hill, and bass-baritone Edmund Milly) have released their performance of ~Marvellous Error!~, recorded live Recorded by West 40th Media at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Baltimore.
The performance can be viewed on Youtube as well as The Polyphonists' Facebook page.
~Marvellous Error!~ was commissioned by Cantus and was originally composed for Unison chorus & TTB semi-chorus. This version for SATB quartet was arranged for the 2019 Uncommon Music Festival. Both versions of the score are available for purchase from Hummingbird Press
New String Quartet in the Works
A new work for string quartet has been commissioned with funding from The Thelma Hunter Fund of the American Composers Forum. The new work will be presented by Saint Paul's Schubert Club, premiere date to be announced.
"Rückblick: New Piano Music Inspired by Brahms" now available!
Pianist, Ann DuHamel's new album "Rückblick: New Piano Music Inspired by Brahms," featuring Edie Hill's Rückblick as the title track, has received its release.
The new recording from Furious Artisans is available for purchase from Amazon and Naxos Direct.
The recording is also available on Apple Music and Spotify.
"Rückblick" Album To Be Released
Pianist Ann Duhamel will soon be releasing a new album of piano works inspired by Brahms. Among them is the “title track,” Edie Hill’s Rückblick (which DuHamel commissioned). Edie’s work appears on the recording alongside composers Joseph Dangerfield, Luke Dahn, Jocelyn Hagen, and Marc Chan. The recording is set to be released on November 13, 2020. It is available for preorder from Naxos Direct.
The musical score for Rückblick will be available for purchase from Hummingbird Press beginning November 15, 2020.
Rising W/ The Crossing
As the COVID-19 pandemic has forced choral singing into a necessary hiatus, Donald Nally and The Crossing have sought to fill the musical void with daily musical offerings from their concert/live performance archives.
Four of Edie's pieces have been featured in "Rising W/ The Crossing."

"Spectral Spirits" Receives its Premier!
Spectral Spirits recieved its premier performance this past December and the reviews are in!
Clive Piget of Musical America described the Spectral Spirits as "bold," "radiant," "deftly crafted," and possessing "[a] power to touch both heart and mind." Micahel Caruso of Chestnut Hill Local lauded the writing as "expert."
The piece was premiered by The Crossing under the conducting baton of Donald Nally on December 20th at Church of the Holy Trinity in Philadelphia. Subsequent performances took place at The Met Cloisters in New York and Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia.

Alaskan Premiers
Two of Edie's pieces will have their Alaskan premiers at the Uncommon Music Festival in August 2019 (Ariadne Lih and Nate Barnett, directors). Among the festival performances will be Edie's "For God So Loved The World" (Women in the Church) and a new arrangment of "~Marvellous Error!~" for four voices (Islands between the worlds).
